Music as Literature

I think we can consider music to be literature because in order to make music you have to write and once you write the song you have to read it. To me I think many people express their selves through music and love the process of making music. I love music, well who doesn't especially since there are so many music genres. A poem, a novel, rap, a song, an opera, etc they all have one thing in common, I think they can all be considered to be American Literature. Now the difference between them might be that they are all written or expressed differently.
