Intermittent: occurring at irregular intervals; not continuous or steady.
Sentence: I know many people who are intermittent.
Ebb: the movement of the tide out to sea.
Sentence: Last summer we saw the a really huge ebb.
Regress: return to a former or less developed state.
Sentence: Few people will regress in the future.
Tendency: an inclination toward a particular characteristic or type of behavior.
Sentence: Students have the tendency to talk while others are talking.
Antiseptic: scrupulously clean or pure, especially so as to be bland or characterless.
Sentence: The woman walking looked antiseptic.
